Rustic Christmas Wreath Farmhouse Style

This rustic Christmas wreath is easy to make and looks beautiful hung from a front door.

The decorations are cut into smaller pieces and tucked between the grapevines with hot glue, making it easy to add color and fullness exactly where it is needed.

The finished grapevine Christmas wreath has plenty of texture, while the buffalo plaid brings all the Christmas colors together.

Supplies

  • 18-inch grapevine wreath
  • Hot glue gun/ glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters
  • Dollar Tree picks: buffalo check ornament picks (3), lamb’s ear picks (2), flat holly with berries picks (4), greenery picks
  • Red and Black buffalo check bow

*There are poinsettias pictured, but I opted not to use them as I liked the greenery to look better.

How to Make a Buffalo Plaid Farmhouse Wreath

Attach the bow to the wreath using the twist tie.

If the tie is not long enough, use twine to secure the bow to the wreath form.

Add a small amount of hot glue behind the bow if additional support is needed.

Use wire cutters to separate the individual pieces from the greenery stems.

Push the foliage toward the top of each stem before cutting, leaving approximately one to two inches of stem.

Cut the flat holly, lamb’s ear, and buffalo check ornament picks in the same way.

Leave enough stem on each piece to weave it between the grapevine branches.

Apply a line of hot glue to the stem of each pick, then slide the stem between the grapevine branches.

Arrange the pieces where they fill the wreath most effectively.
