DIY Christmas Soap Recipe

You only need five ingredients to make this soap, and since it is a simple recipe, you could enlist the help of your kids.

Ingredients

The amount of soap will depend on the size of the container you are using.

In this case, I have made a batch of Christmas soaps using 400 gr of clear glycerin soap base and another batch using 400 gr of white soap base.

Instructions

Cut the soap into small pieces and place them in a container.

Put the container inside the microwave and melt the soap in small intervals.

Once the soap is melted, add a few drops of your chosen essential oil or fragrance. Oil fragrances typical of Christmas like cinnamon, hot chocolate, peppermint, gingerbread, or candy cane, are perfect for this recipe.

Then, add one teaspoon of mica powder and stir. You could also use silver, bronze, gold rose, pearl, or any shade you want.

Pour the soap into the tray or container of your choice. For the mold, you can use a tray, a lid, or any similar container you have at home.

Alternatively, you could use a silicone mold or whatever you have available, but make sure it is easy to unmold.

Spray alcohol on top of the soap to dissolve any bubbles.

Wait until the soap is dry and remove it from the mold.

Another way to make the soap is by using silicone molds. In the molds below, I have added the golden mica to the bottom of the molds before pouring the melted glycerin soap.

You can also mix the mica with alcohol and use a brush to paint over the parts of the soap you want to have a golden touch.

I have also added a few drops of cranberry fragrance oil.

Spray alcohol if there are bubbles on top of the soap.

If the soaps are for a gift, wrap them nicely and add Christmas accents to the wrapping paper.

How To Use It

Use it like you would any other soap. The golden mica will disappear when you rinse your body.
