Homemade Stretch Marks Cream With Vitamin E And Calendula Oil

homemade stretch marks cream

I have made this homemade stretch marks cream because, like many women, I have few stretch marks (thanks to my yo-yo diet) that I would like to see the back of it.

Sadly, is not as easy as that.

Experts say that you can’t completely eliminate stretch marks, but it is possible to diminish them.

Studies found that there are two ingredients that can make stretch marks less obvious.

Prescription medicine you apply to your skin: In studies, two ingredients seem to offer some relief: hyaluronic acid and Tretinoin

It also goes to say that natural remedies don’t help to eliminate stretch marks.

Oh boy, so what now?

Natural remedies might not be for everyone, but they are very popular and they seem to work to some degree.

Maybe, they won’t get rid of stretch marks completely, but I do believe that some natural ingredients are helpful to reduce the marks and fade them over time.

So, having said that I have made my own cream with some of the most popular ingredients I found to reduce stretch marks.

I have listed the benefits of these ingredients after the recipe, just in case you are interested.

One important thing with creams for stretch marks is to be constant.

Don’t expect instant results; you need to use them every day for several months.

Also bear in mind, that fresh stretch marks are easier to treat than old ones, and that they tend to fade over time and become less obvious.

DIY Stretch Marks Cream

Ingredients:

  • Shea butter (1 tablespoon)
  • coconut oil (1 tablespoon)
  • almond oil (2 tablespoons)
  • calendula-infused oil (2 tablespoons)
  • rosehip oil (one teaspoon)
  • hyaluronic acid serum (one tablespoon)

How to make it:

Place Shea butter, coconut oil, calendula oil, and almond oil in a heat-resistant container in a water bath over low heat.

I have used calendula oil that I have made at home by infusing dried calendula flowers in sunflower oil but you can use shop-bought calendula oil, castor oil, or argan oil instead.

Melting oils on the stove

Once the oils are melted add rosehip oil, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and lavender essential oil.

Adding other ingredients to the oils

Use a hand mixer to mix all the ingredients very well.

This is how it looks at first, but it will harden later.
