Best Homemade Brown Sugar Scrub With Peppermint Essential Oil

homemade brown sugar scrub

I love making sugar scrubs at home and this homemade brown sugar scrub made with essential oils and green tea will leave the skin super soft and rejuvenated.

Ideally, body scrubs should be used once every week but don’t use them if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, have broken skin, or have any other type of skin lesion.

Remember also not to abuse essential oils, a few drops are enough to make this scrub.

Check that you are not allergic to the ingredients used and don’t use them on cracked or very sensitive skin.

Brown sugar scrub ingredients

First, make a small cup of green tea and let it cool.

Remove well.

Add the green tea slowly and keep stirring as you do.

Stop adding the tea when you reach your preferred consistency; solid or runnier.

If you want it to have a different color add one spoon of food colorant.

I have chosen green color because the peppermint plant is green but you can pick any color you want.

Transfer to a container with a lid. You can add a ribbon to the jar to make it look prettier.

How To Use It

Apply over wet skin in smooth circular motions.

Don’t rub it too hard to prevent the skin from becoming red.

Shower as usual.

Sometimes I use the scrubs after the shower gel and just rinse them with water.

I like it this way because it leaves my skin moisturized, smooth, and with a nice scent.

If you are wondering if the colorant stains the skin, the answer is no.

At least the food colorant I have used.

Try it first on your hands if you are worried, but I think you will be OK.

The skin will be really soft and with a fresh scent.

Why the Ingredients Work

  1. Antioxidant & Rejuvenating Green Tea

Green tea is brimming with antioxidants, which attack and deactivate free radicals before they cause skin damage. Harmful free radicals accelerate the appearance of aging, but the antioxidants in green tea protect your skin from their detrimental effects. These superhero agents contain polyphenols, which are antioxidant, anticancer, antibacterial, and antiviral. In addition to neutralizing free radicals, the anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties of polyphenols shield your skin from sunlight-induced cancerous changes.
