Soaking in the tub helps ease muscle soreness and can alleviate joint pain.
A hot bath before bed can help you sleep better, too.
Your body temperature rises in the tub, allowing you to relax, but once you get out, your body cools down rapidly, aiding in inducing peaceful sleep.
There is a wide range of bath products available to heighten your bathing experience, including bubble baths, bath bombs, bath oils, and many more.
One product that adds several therapeutic benefits to your bath time is bath salts.
Whether you take baths daily, indulge in them every once in a while as a treat, or use them to help ease certain conditions, bath salts can help you get more out of the enjoyable experience.

What Are Bath Salts And What Are Their Benefits?
The main component of bath salts is a mixture of crushed minerals, which are soluble in water.
They can reduce stress, fatigue, and inflammation, as well as, detoxify the skin, and calm infections.
Several varieties of salts are used in bath salt products, and they all provide unique benefits.
A very common ingredient in bath salts is magnesium sulfate, frequently referred to as Epsom salt.
It is well-liked for soaking sore, tired feet, but has the same soothing effect on the rest of the muscles and joints in the body.
This is an excellent choice if you want to reduce excess inflammation, for a very relaxing and healing bath.
Himalayan Salts Benefits
Another popular salt used in bath salts is Himalayan, or pink, sea salt. It has a pretty pink-to-orange color and is known to be detoxifying.
Himalayan sea salt may counteract the electromagnetic energy that our bodies absorb from the use of technology.
If you feel like you are under too much stress, a soak in Himalayan bath salts could be the rejuvenating treatment your body needs.
Dead Sea Salt Benefits
Dead Sea salt is mined from, you guessed it, the Dead Sea.
What makes it so special is the concentration and variety of minerals it contains, compared to ordinary sea salt.
Along with sodium, Dead Sea salt contains magnesium, calcium, and potassium, making it an ideal ingredient for use in bath salts.
It has detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, and skin-healing properties.
It actually encourages cell metabolism, which aids in healing damaged skin. Further,
Dead Sea salt is hydrating. If you suffer from skin conditions, like acne, eczema, or psoriasis, soaking in Dead Sea bath salts may give you relief.
Don’t use bath salts if you have an open wound or burn. If you are pregnant consult your doctor.
3 DIY Bath Salts Recipes
Other ingredients, such as essential oils and herbs, are often added to bath salts for their aroma-therapeutic and healing properties.
The best part is, you can make your own relaxing bath salt mixtures at home.
The salts mentioned above can be purchased in bulk, allowing you to add essential oils and botanical ingredients of your own choosing, for a fragrant experience unique to your individual needs.
The amounts in the recipes are for 200 ml jars capacity. If your glass jars are bigger or smaller, adjust the amounts accordingly.
Keep the salts in airtight glass containers and store them in a cool, dry place.
They will keep for about 3 to 6 months, depending on the ingredients used.
To make the salts last longer you can add vitamin e oil or a small silica bag.
And never introduce water into the salts, use a spoon to put the salts in the bath.
Let’s make these therapeutic homemade bath salts with essential oils.
